We are a graduate student organization whose purpose is to enrich the Madison arts community through the sponsorship of a variety of events and lectures, to promote an active dialogue between undergraduate, graduate and faculty members of the art history department, to educate the general public in matters related to art and art history, and to enhance the educational experience of graduate students in the art history program at UW-Madison. Our philosophy is that a greater knowledge of the arts is a vital component of both campus life and of the community at large. We believe that it is not enough simply to gain specialized knowledge in our respective fields; we feel an obligation to share our knowledge and enthusiasm for art with others.

Our goal is to better involve the public with the arts community on campus through the sponsorship of events including lectures (by art history and studio art students, UW faculty members, and visiting artists and scholars), symposia, receptions and the co-sponsorship of art exhibitions.
